Oaks Dumpster Rental FAQs

Want to know more about our dumpster rental process? Here are a few of our most common questions answered.

General Information

Roll-off dumpsters are large containers designed to roll off the back of dumpster trucks. They’re typically used for one-time projects like junk removal, home improvements, or landscaping projects.

No, Oaks Dumpster Rental only offers roll-off dumpsters. Front-load bins require a longer contract length, as they are used for regular trash service at businesses like restaurants, stores, or apartment buildings.

  • Our dumpsters do have a door and debris can be walked or wheeled right into the container
  • Our dumpsters open at the back of the dumpster (facing the house/building) and open from the left side. You need 8 ft of space behind and to the right side of the container if you want the door to be able to safely and completely open.
  • The dumpster door faces away from the truck when delivered, which means it will not be facing the street.

We are one of the few companies that takes your property protection seriously. Upon delivery we will use 4 boards under each touch point of the dumpster so there is no contact directly on the driveway. Customers frequently mention how happy they are about the boards in our 5-star google reviews.

Rental Process

Start by visiting our booking page. Select your service area, choose your dumpster size, and fill out your contact and payment information. You can also call us or contact us if you have any questions or need additional assistance.

Our rental prices vary based on location and roll-off dumpster size. Specific pricing is available on our dumpster booking page when you enter your zip code. Additional fees may apply if you accrue excess weight by overloading your dumpster or if materials hang over the sides and cannot be safely moved in one trip.

Our roll-off rental period is seven days. If you need your rental for more than seven days, just let us know. There is a small fee of $15 per additional day.

We recommend placing your dumpster rental on a paved area on your property. However, we can often put a dumpster wherever you request unless there are municipality limitations.

If you place the container entirely on private property, you will not need a permit. However, if you plan to place your dumpster rental in the public right-of-way, including on a city street or blocking a sidewalk, you will need a permit from your municipality.

You can schedule a pickup online or call us when your dumpster is full. We will schedule a prompt pickup.

Dumpster Sizes

It’s important to choose an appropriate roll-off dumpster size for your project. First, estimate the total volume of debris your project might produce. Know that dumpsters are measured in square yards, and one square yard equals a 3-foot by 3-foot cube. Next, consider the type of debris you’re working with. Construction debris will be heavier than attic waste, requiring a larger dumpster. If you’re unsure, contact us to speak with a representative who can help you determine the right-sized dumpster for your needs.

A 12 yard dumpster is 12′ long x 8′ wide x 4′ tall and can hold 12 cubic yards of debris, equivalent to roughly 3.5 pickup truck loads. It’s perfect for medium-sized projects, like a basement or garage cleanout or bathroom remodeling job.

A 15 yard dumpster is 16′ long x 8′ wide x 4′ tall and can hold 15 cubic yards of debris, equivalent to roughly 4.5 pickup truck loads. These dumpsters are great for heftier projects, like major garage or basement cleanouts, general junk removal, or flooring and carpet removal. They can also be used for bigger bathroom or small kitchen remodeling jobs.

A 20 yard dumpster is 16′ long x 8′ wide x 5′ tall and can hold 20 cubic yards of debris, equivalent to roughly 6 pickup truck loads. These dumpsters are best for larger projects, like flooring and carpet removal from an entire house or 2,500 to 3,000 sq ft of single-layer roof shingle waste removal.

A 30-yard dumpster is 22′ long x 8′ wide x 5′ tall and can hold 30 cubic yards of waste, equivalent to roughly 9 pickup truck loads. These dumpsters are great for large projects, like major home additions or new home construction, garage demolition, or entire home window replacement projects.

40 yard dumpster dimensions are 22′ long x 8′ wide x 6.5′ tall. It can hold 40 cubic yards or roughly 12 pickup truck loads of debris. These extra-large dumpsters are best for large amounts of demolition debris, a commercial roof tear-off, office building cleanout, or new construction of a large home.

Proper Debris Disposal

If your cleanup involves common, everyday debris, you can throw most types of household waste in a dumpster. However, each city has different regulations on what can go in a dumpster rental. Furniture, appliances, electronics, stumps, dirt, cardboard and concrete/hardfill may not be accepted in all locations. Ask your Oaks Dumpster representative for specifics in your area.

Prohibited items include flammable, toxic, corrosive, and hazardous materials, such as paints, batteries, electronics, contaminated soil, fluorescent bulbs, and asbestos-containing products. These will not be accepted at landfills and can even damage the dumpster container itself. Contact us for a comprehensive list of prohibited items.
